The difference is that you can go to Steam, Origin, GOG, GreenManGaming, Desura, etc. to buy games on the PC, whereas on a console you are locked into a single market. No competition whatsoever.

Also, most are fine with digital. There is no reason why Microsoft can't do all those game sharing features with digital games. In my case I hated the hybrid physical-digital deal that essentially gimped the physical and digital aspect of games.

Japanese.

I think that is why I was relatively disappointed with Sony and Microsoft's conferences this year. About the only interesting games they showed were the ones that came from Japanese developers. Western games have just become a little too... sterile. Don't get me wrong. I will love Uncharted 4 and get a kick out of the Halo 5 multiplayer, but there is a sparkle of life and charm that was exuded by games like Splatoon.

This was the game of the show for me. I was smiling the entire time I saw the gameplay video. It was just too charming not to be excited about.

Really impressed with Nintendo's announcements. This E3 convinced me that I should finally pick a Wii U.

It is more of a 'first' account.

The 'just' effectively adds another layer of precision in the number effectively. I wouldn't would say over 400,000 for 531,232, but I would say that it would be valid something like 465,000. You could mention under 500,000, but that has negative connotations. Enough rambling from me now.

My devkit can't come soon enough. It's been so long since a new medium/device has thrilled me as much as Oculus Rift.

I always write year-month-day just for the computer sorting convenience. That style always seems to throw off anyone I work with despite its benefits.

You can easily do virtual reality inside augmented reality. Simply block out the view of the real world and your augmented reality becomes virtual reality. I look forward to the world where my prescription glasses double as an overlay display a la Dennou Coil.

Lost Cause? PS2 was lost cause to emulate 10 years ago, but look where we are today. I can run the bulk of the PS2 library on my PC at twice the framerate at quadruple the resolution. It just takes a lot of coding, reverse engineering, and pc oomf to get to a point where we can emulate a console. Granted I do believe the 7th generation consoles will be harder to get up and running since we can no longer rely solely on exponential increases in CPU clock speed to achieve the power we need. ...

@Sayburr

Mainly it's just that rendering through the cloud and syncing it with your game is really hard due to latency considerations. For Sony with their PSNow service the only latency consideration is the time it takes for the TV to react to a button press. Whereas Microsoft have to sync calculations that happen every few microseconds on the console to the cloud that happens to be some indeterminate amount of milliseconds away many times per second. This is why so ma...

No reason it shouldn't work for those who aren't able to use both eyes. Obviously stereoscopy won't be present for that group, but immersion should still be present given the large field of view along with the precise tracking of the head.

If not SEGA then hopefully Atlus will pick up the slack and publish it now that they share one roof. It would be nice to see Atlus handle more of SEGA's niche games that would otherwise not be published in the West.

I'm glad I saw them mention NieR in the video. Though I have yet to play NieR (my back catalog extends generations now, speaking of which I need to add Drakengard I & II to the list...), I have listened to music from the game and was impressed by its quality to the extent that I actually imported the soundtrack. I'm now always on the lookout now for Keiichi Okabe's music.

Uncharted 2 had I think 2 multiplayer trophies, but as with Uncharted 3 they were simply play a co-op match and play a multiplayer match.

Too slow. If you wanted to get your devkit in July you had to order early on. I ordered mine within an hour or so of the announcement, so hopefully I'll be one of the early batches that are shipped out. Manufactures can only produce things so fast. The 2 billion dollar injection won't have too much effect on the current manufacturing deal that they had likely setup months ago.

It's the waitlist all over again. There are people over on OculusVR forums trying t...

I remember when I thought Kingdom Hearts 3 would be on PS3. Square managed to push my two most anticipated games back a generation. Kind of baffling.

3DS Super Smash Brothers will never be the same as playing it local with friends. Local Play is the main reason most people probably buy Super Smash Bros (I know its mine and my friends' reason). I don't think Smash on the 3DS will really siphon too much of the Wii U's potential consumers away from it.

Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart are enough to sway several of my friends and myself into buying a Wii U despite its current grim future. It's still kind of baffling that they didn't have one of these big games on release.

I really hope we see a resurgence of local multiplayer. Nothing beats sitting down with a couple of old friends talking trash and playing Super Smash Bros. or Mario Kart.
